This is the first in a series of articles wherein we go over the steps involved in servicing a tape echo unit. For this article, we will go over the steps of taking a broken Roland RE-201 V1 (version 1) model, diagnosing the problem(s), fixing them, and then cleaning.
TO BE FINISHED WITH PHOTOS ADDED
The NOS ("New Old-Stock") motor we have was sold summer 2007.
We have NO motors to sell.
If you have a tape echo or motor you would like to sell us, please contact us and that would be handled as a separate interaction. If you want this motor, please contact us, and we'll work out the details. EMAIL IS BEST (info@sound-o-mat.com) although a phone call if you are buying it will be needed so we can be sure you know what you're getting, and have the means or understanding on how to install it. If you want to sell us a dead motor that you're replacing, we can work that out as a separate deal - we cannot offer much since these motors are almost impossible to fix - they work or they're dead is our experience.
Here's photos of a Sayama/Pioneer RE-Series motor:

Again, if you have a dead Roland tape echo, motor or parts, feel free to contact us and we'll offer you as fair a price as we can. Thanks!
